Conserving Water

I was listening to Monster Radio RX 93.1 while I was on traveling. They had these beauty pageant contestants for the Ms Philippines Earth in the booth at the time. They said they were there to promote their cause: which is water conservation.

So here is my list of  10 Ways  to Help Conserve Water (some sensible, mainly just silly). We can use less water by:

  1. Taking less baths - who cares if we all stink a little
  2. Use a pail of water with a dipper rather than the shower. Yes, the rain forest shower head or the multi nozzle  experience is awesome. It also wastes more water than you actually need.
  3. Don't wash the car. Just let the rains clean your vehicle for you.
  4. Wash clothes only once a month. You'll have a huge pile of laundry but it's for a good cause hehehe
  5. Do your laundry manually rather than with a washing machine. Like the shower, you use more water than you actually need with the modern, less tiring method.
  6. Throw away all the toys that use water. No more water guns. No more little fountains for bath time. Get rid of rubber ducky!!! Erm...well maybe keep the duck.
  7. Drink less water in a day. This may be bad for your health but hey, they want us to conserve, right?
  8. Wear less clothes. Less clothes, equals less to wash. It will promote No 4. If you visit the home page of  Ms Philippines Earth you'll see a sample of this suggestion. They sure cut down on the cloth for her front.
  9. Magkamay na lang at kumain mula sa dahon ng saging (Go back to eating using your fingers to eat and use banana leaves as plates). Nothing to wash but your fingers and leaves grow back.
  10. Find a way to recycle the water you use. Take a bath in your garden using environmentally friendly soap (is there's any such thing) and water your plants at the same time.

Let's just make masks and oxygen tanks fashionable. Then you won't smell the rising stench

Hmm... that's a thought. Wear what is considered a swim suit now, with a mask and tank to ensure easy breathing. Nothing to sweat on, little to wash. Plus, if you worked from home and mainly socialized online rather than actually mingling with people, you'll get less dirty, sweaty and stinky.

So in conclusion, to conserve water, become a recluse who never leaves the house who wears nothing and has no contact with any other life form except through media such as the internet. No one will mind but you and you will definitely use less water.

Feel free to suggest more ways to help conserve water. I'm sure you all have more suggestions on ways to save the earth.
